Sophie was born on the 22nd of January 1994 and lived majority of her life in the small town of Staines. Her first encounter with photography was during her BTEC Art course at the Magna Carta Secondary School where she explored the concept of age and time by photographing all the generations of her family; which gained her a distinction in the course and "Head Teacher's Choice" award in her year. This boost in confidence proceeded into her education at Strode's College where she studied A Level Photography. Sophie's first experience in the art industry started during her gap year where she worked along side professional photographer Julia Fulerton-Batten on Julia's fine art project 'Blind'. After a few more work experience placements, Sophie decided to proceed to continue her studies of photography and enrolled in BA Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster.
